I was hoping to get the ASUS - ProArt P16 16" 4K OLED (4060 version) around $1,100 from Best Buy as Open Box, but it hasn't come down that low for a while now, and I don't need a dedicated GPU for my needs. This checks all the other boxes for me though. OLED, 120Hz, Good CPU, 32GB, 1TB SSD, and most importantly I will personally only buy a laptop from Best Buy or Costco. NewEgg had a slightly better spec at $1,100 that I would have bought if Costco/Best Buy were selling it, but I don't want to deal with them in the event I need to return or have a problem.

I have owned a couple ASUS laptops and never had any quality issues. With that said, I think it can vary model to model. I have held a Vivobook in my hands recently and it felt very solid. If you don't like it, return it. Costco will refund S&H, so there is no risk.

Is this significantly better than the Acer aspire 14" 258v, 32gb in terms of performance to justify the price difference?($750 vs $999)

I have the 14 inch model.

Good:
M2 Drive can be replaced, I have a 4TB.
Very good for most games, can play Cyberpunk at mid spec.
Screen is fantastic.

Bad: Linux support is horrible. So bad I ended up buying the Lunar Lake intel version which works fine.
Audio quality could be better.

However I think with the Macbooks on sale that's a better deal. MOST people are better off buying a cheap MacBook Air and not worrying about it

Returned the 14" version. It is good one overall. Just the oled is not a good choice for coding at night

I have the 2021 ROG Zephyrus G15 GA503 from bestbuy
it's been brutal, random BSOD, keyboard keys not working, still need to call customer service but I'm dragging my feet since I use it as my daily runner.
From what I understand I have a mix of hardware and software issues ( Armoury Crate and all the RGB stuff not working well together) Also sleep mode throws the machine off.
it's all documented in ASUS's subreddits as well.

I have a lenovo from 2012 still going, although I had windows 7 there, recently switched to Ubuntu ( ancient tech lol)

I just picked up this from Costco at nearly the same price point, it hasnt even been delivered yet. Thoughts/comments between the two? Looking for a fast, long battery life productivity PC for work.

I don't know if mine was an exception but the laptop that I bought from costco with the 12th gen intel (14.5" oled too) overheats a lot. even if i have opened and cleaned the dust (which there isn't much build up), it still overheats. i am really looking for a laptop close to a mac book where it doesn't overheat that much.

Can you send a link to Asus with 4060 GPU?
