also smaller battery since the 7 350 is less power hungry (meant to compete with the snapdragon x elite)
the weight and weight distribution are the stars of the show. my two xps 13's feel way heavier and have a noticeable 80/20 bottom/top weight distribution vs the hp which feels 50/50. body could be a little more compact for a higher end 13.3 (though i'm coming from a last gen and current gen xps 13 which are near the top in that regard). 9.5/10
screen is just bright enough, and quality/color is surprisingly good. 2560x1600 is nice at this size too. i'm not bummed about no OLED. 8.5/10
keyboard is alright, travel and squish are all pretty run of the mill. the font on the keys is oversized and a bit cheap looking. cmon hp you do this for a living. 7/10
build quality is good/very good, feels a touch plasticky but i prefer it that way so it's lighter vs. the metal xps. no chassis or deck flex that i can detect. 8/10
battery life seems fine, been running for 2 hours now updating stuff and surfing 100% brightness and it's @ 80%. it won't be a snapdragon at 15+ hours though
2 usb-a ports are a waste, hdmi at this size is nice. not much bloatware. $850 is a fair price, I wouldn't pay much more tbh. verdict is i'm keeping it and i'm pretty ocd about my laptops.
8.5/10 overall
edit: no thunderbolt, oversight on my part. returning
