Wish there was a way to do this for family membership
You can buy a 12 month family plan code on eBay for $15.

EDIT: Getting downvoted by ignorant people. I buy one of these every year.

That means you're paying $15 to join some stranger's family plan. No, thanks.

I never knew you can do this! I see there is a 12-month + Expansion being sold for $19.00. This sounds too good to be true, but the seller has 99.5% positive feedback, but is in Germany. I'm in the US. What am I missing here? The item # is 335929423432

It's most likely as I said: someone is selling you a spot in their family plan. The location probably doesn't matter, you can join from anywhere. You're overpaying if this is what it is, though. The family plan costs $80 and can have up to 8 members, so if you were to split the cost with people you know, it should only be $10.

Thanks a bunch for your insight. I don't know anybody else with a switch, so I wouldn't be able to split a family plan cost with them. I'm thinking about buying this because it's so cheap, but as you were mentioning, I don't know how I feel about joining a stranger's plan.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it, but some things I can think of:
what if they abuse their account (not sure if that would affect the other members), what it they're using a stolen code, what if it's against Nintendo TOS, and I suppose what if they remove me before the 12 month period.

Were those the kind of concerns you had as well?

I wouldn't say I'm concerned, I'm just not interested in anything like that. If this is indeed the case, the owner of the plan would be able to remove you whenever they want.

There is a chance this is a legitimate code though. If you're that interested, you can message the seller.

It's wild how confident you are yet still wrong. Why not go research yourself before causing people to miss a good deal? It is absolutely not a spot in someone else's plan, it is yours and yours only.

His insight is wrong, the codes on eBay work fine, you are not part of someone else's plan.
