If anyone is interested in this, there is a nearly identical acer (and i suspect a few other vendors) version that pops up a bunch for a few bucks more which has an SD slot in it as well. It works great with an extension USB cable if you don't keep your PC on your desk, and want something easy to connect random things with or that need a quick charge.

I wouldn't stress much over the hdmi, its not like you would want to use one of these things outside of a pinch for your video out.
Ports are super slow old tech! Why they even sell this stuff is beyond me. This one is 10Gb/s on all 4 ports and is only $8! It's been serving me well for a while now: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DDTF3TXC?th=1 There's a USB C version for $10.
I needed support for another item i bought at BB. Anker asked for invoice, pics, etc. I sent BB invoice. Anker replied they can't find BB order number in their system. Of course they can't find it in their system if i didn't order directly from Anker. Anker replied i should ask BB for support. Goodbye Anker.
