I have this Acer: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CYLSJDG5
bought it a year ago for $17. It regularly goes on sale for $17- 20 with coupons. I believe Acer uses the same OEM for their USB hubs as Apple devices.
Also, bought Baseus https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CM3LCTX3
It was listed on SD for $17 a couple of months ago, though I like Acer more since it's minuscule as a little stick, has a built-in SD/SDXC card reader, and it's very reliable.

I don't have experience with this hub, but it looks inferior to USB hubs I've tried before. It's a plastic build, no USB-C data ports, no Ethernet or SD card reader, and only one 5Gbps USB port. However, if you're looking for HDMI specifically, it might serve your needs.

Nice options for few bucks (~80%) more but Acer & Apple same OEM is something hard to believe

None of these hubs add what's most needed: a lot more USB-C ports. The one USB-C port on the Anker and Acer is simply a pass-though to replace the one the hub uses.
(Even the 6 & 10 port Baseus ones only add one USB-C port)
By now, I've replaced almost everything that used USB-A with USB-C - travel monitor, thumb drive, external backup SSD, keyboard, mouse, DVD drive, et. al. Not to mention the joy of carrying a much smaller charger, thanks to USB-C PD GAN. Why does anyone needs 3 USB-A ports in 2025?
I'm not sure what's out there now, but it took some searching last year when I bought a Maxonar one that added 3 USB-C ports. It's been great, but sadly no longer available.

Does this work with the new Onn 4K plus? I have an orico hub that has HDMI and Ethernet. It would work for a couple of minutes before the box would force restart. I don't know if it was having issues with the Ethernet port or the HDMI port.
