I've noticed this too. They do this with external hard drive too, which is really irritating.

If you don't need the HDMI port, here's one for $6 which is twice as fast (10gbps), has both USB-A and C ports, and also has power input, which is great for portable hard drives, etc.

I admit, choosing between those 2 is tougher than I thought it'd be. Literally nothing I can think of to separate them 😡

I don't know if this was the design decision made for this hub, but USB 3 can cause interference with 2.4 ghz devices. Many wireless USB dongles such as Logitech's unifying adapter, zigbee controllers, etc... can perform more effectively if plugged into USB 2 ports, hubs, extension cables, etc.

Because it's $10 and speed is irrelevant for things like a wireless mouse or keyboard receiver?

Depends on your screen. If you're using this with a 1080p or 1440p monitor, there's no benefit to spending more. If you'll be using it with a 4k or 8k monitor, definitely get a better one.

This supports up to 90 watts. USB ports only supply the amount of power your device requests. So yes, this is OK.

if they have a name in all caps, it's a chinese brand that's translated into random latin characters. i'm sure there is some logic to it but to me it looks very random. i would question all these dropshipped products
