The real play is to get this laptop for $850 at Costco to benefit from the 90-day return window. In July and August, a Back-to-School sales tax holiday is likely with a chance to double-dip on a price discount and a tax break (if the tax holiday and a price discount coincide). This could save you another ($50-$70 depending on your local sales tax). Or another retailer may offer an even lower price by then.

Worst case, the 2nd year warranty is worth an extra $37.

I have Macbook Air M1 with 8gb RAM in good condition.
I use it mostly for
- Some toy app development in flutter for side learning: Seems to do well.
- Internet browsing: Here when I open more than 10-15 tabs the tabs stop working well.

Will the M4 with 16gb ram help?

Yes, the additional RAM will make your laptop feel much quicker. Multiple tabs use a lot of RAM causing the whole computer to slow and often causing tabs to crash or hang up.

Absolutely 💯

Not sure why with 15 tabs you would see any issue with M1, but irrespectively, upgrade to m4 and 16gb are worth it with more oo-device AI capabilities
