bought this exact model in black a few years back... used it very very sporadically. id say about 5 or 10 times a year... so lets say 50 uses to be safe...

it worked great, but just last week, the plastic piece that joins the 2 halfs together disintegrated. so i guess its good for the price, but i hate throwing things in the trash after so little use, no matter what the price is.

Honestly you can find Cuisinart immersion blenders for under $30, and it will last forever as long as you don't try to make 3 gallons of peanut butter at once Big Grin I'd be afraid these cheap blenders would leave plastic in your food.

I don't see any sort of a cap for the steel end -- do NOT use these on enameled cast iron like Le Creuset or Staub. Not sure if it'll damage the surface (some reviews say it's not that strong), but it's not worth the risk!

I bought a Braun one after one like this broke in a similar manner after not much use. The Braun one on sale wasn't much more expensive and has great reviews.

I replaced my last ovente with a hamilton beach. Think I paid about $35. Hopefully it lasts well more than 3x as long.

Those Ninja rechargable blenders are perfect for that kind of thing.

I am disappointed there's no Ryobi 18v immersion blender...What? They do just about every other gadget. 18v would make a powerful stick blender.

Luv Ryobi, but I bought a AA battery milk frother for my camping chuck-box to whisk eggs and pancake batter.

Maybe Ryobi could add to their small USB Lithium Battery Camping Line-Up.
