I'm just curious, why would someone buy a $3000 GPU but play games at 1080p…?
They're the same people who tell you to buy the RTX 5070 TI and say, "5070 TI is just as fast." Most of the benchmarks and performance tests they bring as evidence are usually running at 1080p settings, and everything is turned off.

When did I say it's under the MSRP... I merely said they were trending down in price.

This is an okay deal. If you build this on your own (maybe with 9800x3d instead) it would probably set you back around an additional 200-300 bucks.
Could you please kindly do a math here?

9800X3D is about 30% faster at 1080p. Even if you never run 1080p, it will also age much, much better than the 285 allowing you to keep the computer much longer. They did it to save a few bucks in parts costs (and not really that much) especially considering the original MSRP is $5500.
Amd is absolutely crushing intel on every aspect of gaming right now. Efficient, raw performance, stability, and value they win every category. Very few people that do custom builds and have used intel in the past are doing so anymore. I guess those processor intel makes have to go somewhere so most pre builds seem to be feature intel but no self respecting gamer buys a pre build anyway. Anyone who know does a custom build and they buy amd not intel.

quick math: 5090 at $3k; newegg is selling a tuf variant at $$2,759.99

9800x3d + 64 gb ram, + a wifi motherboard: $800 (should be noted that the motherboard of the powerspec costs around $300, while you can definitely get a good motherboard for around $150)
2 tb storage: $100
case + fans + 1200w psu around $400 (this is somewhat of an overestimate).

Total cost: $4,300
So technically, you can make a similar build for around $4,000 if you went for tuf 5090 and probably take another $100 off with some more optimizations in selecting parts. The ultra 9 would probably make it $150 more.

Windforce 5090 is about $100 less. But this is definitely pretty good for a prebuild.

Thanks. And I guess I will add $100-$150 for OEM Windows OS.
