Because these filters are so expensive, get a cheap Brita pitcher with Costco's Kirkland filters to 'pre filter" tap water before putting it through the Zero. Makes the zero filters last a lot longer
Don't buy 2 filter pitcher. You will not know if one is doing all the work when other is stuck or if one is making water taste acidic or "lemony", so you won't know which one to replace.. Get 1 filter version.
Does anyone know if they sell cap to block the 2nd filter. Why do we need 2 filters.... I paid 50+ for 1 filter version and I would love to get this riser version. I don't want to put 2 filters. That's a bad design!

I'm not familiar with this and how good it is. Can anyone explain how this compares against other water filtration systems?

It's one of the best filtration systems of this type on a market
Expensive $10+ each filter, but it does a job compare to rest systems with cheaper filters making imitation with low filtration
Works great TDS show 000 pure water
After a few weeks TDS goes up to 005 and water tastes weird, so must replace filter immediately

It gets water down to 0 TDS, which means it strips most chemicals and harder minerals (for better or worse).
Probably the "best" option for regular filter systems, but not the most cost efficient.
If you're in a region with relatively soft water, a single filter could last months. If you're in TX like me, maybe 3 weeks.
This ones a chonker from the look of it, but goes through 2 filters at a time.

Except for the fact that they give you a gauge and you would see the change in TDS once one fails. It would be safe to assume both would get full at the same time given they're doing equal work. With that being said. no one should be drinking 0 TDS water. I use this for aquariums.

you can take both out and test them separately. it's gonna be a hassle

You would know which one had what kind of flow rate and how much filtered. These things don't have standard or minimum flow rate. It's not consistent which one will filter more water.

There is a new version of ZeroWater filter and pitcher, so this one will likely be discounted regularly going forward, perhaps more steeply than this deal.

So does this basically produce distilled water? Is it good enough to use for applications that require distilled water like mixing with auto coolant concentrate?

would the filters last longer if I'm only using it once a week for plant watering. i have calathea that would benefit from distilled water.

It takes everything out except for the microplastics, including those it adds.

I'm wondering this also. I have a lot of dissolved silica in my water that clogs things up when it dries, so I use distilled water in my aquarium and robomop. I wind up buying a couple gallons of distilled water a week, and its kind of a pain to get. This seems like it might be easier and slightly less expensive.

Unfortunately no filter will get close to a distillation or reverse osmosis system. Even a 97% is still letting a lot through. If you have a requirement for distilled use distilled. (Source...a huge project done for AP Bio that we actually visited water plants and tested everything under the sun with a bio lab. Twenty five years ago, but maths still math. Also, me and my friend might have been nerds)
