The Kobalt Reddit page says these are absolute garbage and cells die frequently. I haven't bought any, but have never had a standard battery fail.

They have a 3 year warranty on these batteries. I have the 8AH version that was manufactured in 2021 and it is still going strong.

Yeah true. Just keep track of your receipt. For whatever reason the Ultimate Outputs are much more susceptible.

I have 5 of these batteries. They do get a lot more failures from what I've seen online, but they're not garbage. One of mine died a few months after 3 years but the others are fine and I use them for some heavy lifting. They do make a difference in things like hammer drills and impact wrenches but I also notice the bump in power in my shop blower and pet vaccum when using these instead of the regular ones. 3 year warranty on the batteries definitely helps and hopefully Chervon (manufacturer) has fixed the issues from previous years.

I had one of these and it died on me after about a year. I didn't keep the receipt so couldn't take it back under warranty. This was a couple years ago so maybe they've fixed the issue, not sure. I have 4 or 5 regular batteries and they've all been great after 5ish years.
