I know it's slightly more, but the 3-pack 2K version of these is currently on sale at Costco for $129.99 https://www.costco.com/.product.4...ue&nf=true

These are great. I've had 10 of them for a year, hardly ever any false triggers even with the sensitivity turned up to max. One thing to note, they did not like my TP-Link mesh routers and would constantly disconnect. I had to use a separate single dedicated router to connect all of them to, after that they work great.

How reliable are the solar panels. I've already gone through 5 from separate brands to power my Arlo cameras...

do they work well with microsd card? do they go off line sometimes and have to plug out and back in the main power cable? i have the WYZE OUTDOOR CAM . not a reliable camera.

They work just fine with the microSD cards, no need to pay for the cloud storage.

Their app isn't bad, but if you've got the technical chops and are up to it, they work great with open source Frigate as an NVR.

App sucks. It's only available on some android devices, can't use it on android emulators on a computer. I use 'Agent DVR' which is free and available on my windows computer, and I also use the security camera plug-in on my Emby media server for occasional viewing.

The app is pretty much only good for remote viewing or alerts, which can be set dozens of ways (people, movement, zones, etc.)

Other than not having a live multi camera viewing app for a smart tv or computer, the TAPO camera's are a great value. (I have 4 of them).

I use Agent DVR. It's free, but you're right, it cam be a tech pain to set them up. They use a different stream type, you have to set up access WITH a user name and password on each individual device, then generate the stream address.

This site makes it a lot easier. https://www.ispyconnect.com/camera/tapo

Can I record what they see directly to my Synology NAS, if I don't want to subscribe or deal with SD cards?

I know it's not normally supported on Wi-Fi cameras, but does this (or the 2k version) support RSTP?
