So I took the set to the customer service desk and asked to get a price check on it. It showed the same price as my App. ($39.98/$44.98)
I showed the employee the price online of $29.98 and he said that they can't match the price in store to the web page but told me that I could purchase it online for store pickup at the lower price.
I found that absolutely ridiculous but I decided to do it. While I was adding it to my online cart I remembered another item that I needed which brought the total above the $35 threshold for free shipping. Additionally I noticed that I had a $5.00 "Lowe's Money" that I didn't know about that expired soon so I used that as well.
So now I get it at the lower price, I get an additional $5 discount that I was unaware of and they have to pay to ship it to me.
Lowe's, you have a crappy business plan.
Key point, order it online for store pickup. Do not just go to your store to purchase it.
I have plenty of bit sets, drill sets, socket sets, etc but what I like about this is everything that I'll tend to need is all in one kit. I can grab one kit instead of three and it'll cover ~90% of what I need.
