According to Project Farms YouTube channel, it should be pretty durable

Thanks for this, I'll probably go the HD route but slightly different style - here are all the Husky options for those that prefer a different style:

Is this going to break after 1 season and have to be replaced?

IIRC correctly, project farm didn't rate this thing too highly.

Do you have to pay any shipping for the replacement?

Same with Gilmour (Fiskars), pretty much no questions asked. Problem is it takes several weeks to get the new one, not sure about Melnor. The HD route sounds like what Craftsman used to be, where you could walk into Sears Hardware and they'd give you a new one or the closest thing to it.

I like his channel but he doesn't do long term testing. I have owned two of the sprayers he rated high like the Eden and both failed within six months of use. They start leaking first and then just start spraying water out of places that are coming apart inside.
Yeah, kind of impossible to do long term testing in that format. I think for his "durability" score on that video, he just ran over them with his truck

I've been using different brands for years and what I found is that it doesn't matter what you use, it will break if you leave it outside over winter. Water will make the aluminum/plastic expand and it will break. That's why many manufactures stop giving lifetime warranties. At the end of the season, I use my air compressor and blow out any water left inside and store it indoors. I've had success with a $5 one after this.
I typically only leave them open when off and it seems to help them last 3 plus years

Home Depot (Husky brand)

Usually a store's own brand will be cheaper than the competition but Husky is just as expensive if not more so. HD must be charging extra for that lifetime warranty that many aren't even aware of (I wasn't).

My Husky I purchased last August has just failed and I forgot I could just take it and swap it until reading it here. I have hard water in my area so there is no brand or price point that will survive long as much as I have to water due to the heat. I will take advantage of that lifetime guarantee, though I do wonder what will happen when they discontinue the sprayer in the future.

I got tired of my sprayer handles breaking yearly and went with Eley. Expensive but very very well built. 10 year warranty, too. I won't bother with cheap stuff like this anymore.
I just got my Eley hose/attachments a few days ago. Crazy, CRAZY expensive, but I'm very glad I'll never have to think about hose stuff again for the rest of my life.

Spray nozzles like this are a great item to buy at Dollar Tree. They are a seasonal item, so get 2-3 when they arrive in the spring. They may fail in 4-6 months, but I've had some last 2 years or more. They are $1.25 so you can go thru 10 and still be ahead of this 'deal'.
