Now that Nintendo Switch 2 is out, it seems retailers are actively trying to get rid of any Nintendo Switch consoles that they still have in stock.
I was at a local Staples [staples.com] when I saw that they were offering $50 off Nintendo Switch consoles.
Obviously, this is VERY YMMV. So you'd have to go into the store to check on inventory and pricing.
This might be worthwhile if you have a lot of Staples Reward Points saved up.
The ad banner fine print says the $50 off ends 6/7 (photo #1). But each individual price tag states the prices are valid until 6/21 and 7/5, respectively (photo #2), so I would assume these sale prices will remain until they sell them (I highly doubt they'll need to do another round of clearance reduced pricing to sell them all away, but you're welcome to try and wait).
  • $299.99 for Nintendo Switch OLED
  • $269.99 for Nintendo Switch
  • $149.99 for Nintendo Switch Lite
This Staples store didn't have any of the games on sale, but that doesn't seem beyond the realm of possibility.
Happy Hunting!

I just thought about this... Is Nintendo going to stop making switch 1 models now?

Didn't you hear that comment from the Nintendo Pres of America? To paraphrase, "If you're too broke to purchase a Switch 2, just purchase a Switch." So they're still gonna make 'em.

you can get used OLED models for $200 used right now. That's the way to go, everything else is a waste. these would be worth it for $80-$100 price

They could still discontinue certain models though.

Keep them in your closet and they might be worth something again in another 10-15 years or so.

Depends on what happen with NINTENDO SWITCH 3 beyond 2032. Plus Nintendo don't care about millennials anymore and nostalgia don't last forever.

You may be right but your prediction is good as anyone else.

I've been buying these switch lites... grew up with Gameboy color and always regretted not buying the different colors back when to collect. I've slowly been adding to my switch lite color collection. Not for resale value but because I'm a sad adult grasping at a misplaced childhood I guess lmao.

Just look at the 3DS right now. You could get them for a $100 or less for a while at the end. 2DS was $50. Now look at that market. Switch 1 will circle back.

highly unlikely, look at their older handheld consoles now, DS gameboys etc, only ones worth any real money are the specialty skinned ones

Yeah, only certain 3DS variants are worth anything. Like the Zelda model is 300+, but you can find a plain 3DS for cheap.

This lite will be $90 or less in the future.
