It makes the M18 Gen3 Compact obselete. Theres still a place for folks who don't want to get into the M12 lineup/get HO 5.0 batteries
This? Not necessarily, especially in terms of overall runtime. But the new M12 with 550 ft-lbs and the M18 high-torque (1500+ ft-lbs) seem like an ideal pairing yes.
- M18 batteries have more (storage) capacity, so if you're using it a lot, one battery will last longer before the power starts to wane. 12V*5AH HO = 60Wh vs 18V*6 = 108Wh
- M18 should be somewhat more effective on stubborn lugs, especially as the battery charge starts to wane.
I'm surprised they didn't release an M18 version of the 550 ft-lb stubby but it's surely coming sooner or later.
