The deal you are referencing came with the compact stand, which is fine if you have this statically setup. If not, this saw weighs 75lbs, you're gonna want the rolling stand that has pneumatic assisted raising and lowering.

Is this new manufacturing pricing? Not seeing it shown elsewhere at all.

I was going to buy the DWS779 for $399 and add the LED shadow light to it for like $100, but this deal for DWS780 gives you the same thing for the same price without having to do any modifications.

Tough decision - The 779 is $359.10 at Home Depot with my military discount. It looks like the 780 is sold by Amazon (not a second party) so supposedly Home Depot will price match. Anyone have any first hand experience with that?

Home Depot had 779 for $258 3-4 weeks ago with military discount and I bought one, so wait for price drop again is my advice
