You can print rings to go on the edge of the cardboard spools to make them roll smoothly.
If you use Bambu printers, you can also use the Bambu reusable spools (I just print out my own with the cheapest filament I can). They are a perfect fit for the Elegoo spools without any adapters. Just pop off one side, nip the cardboard center to make room for the little slot in the spool, flip it over, take off the other side of the cardboard, slot together, and voila.
I like their filament but I wish they would use plastic spools. The cardboard will dent often in shipping and bog up my AMS, often needing me to manually give it slack to resume printing. Havent had this issue w other cardboard spools yet

Nah. No need to waste more plastic, that thing will sit in a landfill for hundreds of years. Cardboard is a fine choice.

I've noticed some warping of their PETg Rapid and I'm wondering if the PETg Pro has a lower CTE. It's one of the material properties that Elegood *doesn't* list on their page. They claim better performance of the Pro, but the mecanical properties (Fy, elongation, impact strength) are all lower for Pro than Rapid, and both Fb and E overlap within the variation given.

WTH is this?
"Worry-Free Purchase USD2.89"
I don't want to pay you extra. Your price should already include costs for your company to ensure anything I order is worry free.

Yeah... delete that in your cart. I do it when I order from them. It's their responsibility to make sure your order gets delivered and not something you need to pay extra for. If anything happens enroute, Elegoo has from the best service out there regarding 3d printers/accessories and they will take care of you.

Their PLA+ is good stuff. Prints well and the finish is good too. The paper spool is garbage though. I had to fix one roll I received with hot glue as one side of the spool just fell off.

I pre-ordered a centauri carbon and delivery is still ~a month away, it will be my first 3d printer. Can anyone recommend a filament type for a newbie like me? Do others have concerns of having 10 rolls of the same color?

Hopefully you'll get it sooner. Alot of people have been getting their printers earlier than expected based on the Centauri Facebook group comments. I pre-ordered mine right when it was announced so I've had mine for a while and have over 700 hours on it. The good news is if yours is from the more recent batches, you should have a couple upgrades that weren't on the initial batches (upgraded lighting & port for AMS/mms when it gets released).

As far as first filament... PLA is the easiest to print with for a beginner. All the Elegoo filaments are already dialed in on the Centauri Carbon and you won't need to do any calibration.

I was intimidated by 10kg when I began (not all that long ago) but now I pretty much only buy in bulk (generally cheaper per spool that way) unless I need a specific color / filament for a project. Black, white & Grey are typically the colors people go through the most.

Nice. I recently started using their Rapid PETG and I love it. Stronger than PLA, more heat and UV resistant, smoother prints, better adhesion and prints just as fast as PLA. Best of both worlds

Can anybody comment on the performance of the rapid PETG on Centauri Carbon? Been pulling my hair out with generic PETG, even after calibration and slowing way down.
