At one point I thought it was 2.1. At 2.4 lbs and same price as Mac air $750 best discount price. Forget this snapdragon chip

Afaik Linux support for these Qualcomm arm chips is abysmal, if not nonexistent.

Thx. I saw there is a preview for Ubuntu but its early days. Guess I will keep my MBP for a few more years.

2.1 is the snapdragon non plus variant with 32GB ram and 1TB storage. That is also the 32hr battery life version.

This one has a more powerful chip but I suspect they had to add additional thermal controls hence the extra weight and only like 27hrs of battery

I wanted that one, I will wait for the price to drop with open box.

I don't even need another computer... I should sell some of my old stuff for cheap!

Lol you and me both. I am very tempted with this being close to the estimated cost of producing but I really want the other one like you. Apparently, the difference between the plus and non-plus is pretty negligible but less so for the elite.

I'm wondering if this laptop will be good enough for my dad (84 years old). He primarily uses his laptop for email checking and web browsing (not much else) and he travels a lot so he wants something light.
