Seems to be complaints about wrong staples. If you buy the correct one and are fine with a plastic stapler, then this appears to be a good option

I prefer this to a traditional stapler and have had no issues. It's half the force to drive the staples and I have used this for several extended projects with no issues.

I have the "light duty" version of this.(gray w/ red handle) I bought it from Sears several years ago. When I went to pick it up, the saleslady didn't think much of it, and mentioned it looked kind of small. It is a little smaller than a regular staple gun. I recovered my entire couch with it.(all individual cushions) It was that fake leather that cracked and flaked all over. I'm currently using it to recover bicycle seats. I've never had a problem with it. I just wish I could find 3/16" staples, for the bicycle seats. The one I have uses JT21 staples. I don't see where this one specifies what staples it uses.

Would this work for upholstering dinning chairs?
