Thanks, I purchased for $557.17+tax after a price match from target and applying %15 off target circle coupon and an additional 5% off with the target card.
I am so confused with Garmin. Too many models and generations

Which coupon was it?

it was under circle offers, save 15% on one instore or online purchase. it had lots of exclusions, luckily Garmin was not among them.

I was able to pm in my first attempt but it took them a while to confirm. the first customer service rep had to escalate it to a supervisor which claimed that it was sold by third party, i said i disagree and gave them both amazon and walmart links, then they were convinced. You may try giving them the walmart link

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Garmin...3530380258

I had two chats between 2 reps with a 20 minute interval in between. They insist it was sold by third party even if the listing shows sold by Amazon.com. They're both checking the website at all, rather they're looking at their internal system which I encountered in-store. But also, it's hard to argue if 2 already won't budge. So 🤷🏽 ♂️

Beginner question:

Why is this watch so expensive?

It's something that I used to think the same until I got one. It puts Samsung and Apple watches to shame. Extremely long battery life and incredibly durable. I was buying a new Samsung watch every couple years and the features were not even close to what the Garmin offered. If you are into outdoor activities, even though they are expensive, they are worth it. And a couple of people are mentioning how there are some less expensive options. I have the epix Sapphire. Fantastic watch.

I have this watch and wear it daily. I love it so much. I know people don't think the pro is worth it but that flashlight is such an underrated feature. I use it daily. I've done miles of swimming, half marathons and trails with this watch. I can wear it while climbing and doing all kinds of work. It's a great watch. The only thing needing updates is the way things are loaded in to it like music and it needs a magnetic charger. Also its heart rate readings and stuff match my other devices pretty well. GPS also works great for tracking my runs.

It's a useless POS. You have features like Heart Rate, you can see your Heart beating while you working out, wow, look my heart is beating fast. And then you have altimeter , you can see how many feet's yore above sea level, honestly I don't even think you can get out of your house if you don't know that, heheheh. Let's not forget about the Oxigen sensor , you need that too.
And then you have the GPs , and it happens when you're out there and the gps is not getting any signal , it's looking , looking, looking………an hour later still looking. I mean you better go, rather than wait for the watch to catch the signal.
And you have the Flash Light, that's pretty much only feature you'll find useful, at night, walking, looking for stuff in the dark places, without actual reaching for a flashlight.

Beginner question:

Why is this watch so expensive?
I love Garmin smartwatches! First and foremost is their incredible battery life, we're talking a minimum of a week for older models and now they're at two weeks to a month vs "other" major watch brands that need to be charged every 1-2 days. Second is the build quality, they are designed for sport use so can take much more of a beating compare to other smartwatches. Third is the feature set, yes I get that Apple and Samsung watches "can" do more but you really have to check and see if they do what you want. Like for me notifications, specific sport tracking, general health tracking, and being easy to read were key to me. But they have a whole range of watches to suit your needs, in fact I wear one of these Epix Gen 2 and my kids wear Forerunners. That being said, if you "need" a feature available on another smartwatch that isn't available on a Garmin, then you should absolutely go that way, I just can't deal with the short battery life of those, total deal killer to me.

I have a buddy who works for Garmin and got me 40% off when it released, so this almost matches the employee discount. I've had it for a bit over a year now and it's a fantastic watch. I charge it once or twice a month depending on my exercise usage. The AMOLED screen is crisp. The flashlight I use daily, no matter how much Apple Watch fanboys will try and tell you it's a gimmick. I have relatively large hands, so the 51mm doesn't look oversized on me. But if you have small wrists, you might consider a smaller size. Also, I won't get a watch without sapphire glass now. I've banged this thing into so many surfaces over the time I've owned it and there's nary a scratch.
I just really want to emphasize how valuable the flashlight is to people who may not get it. It is as strong as your phone flashlight and so so so valuable. It's always on your wrist and just 2 quick clicks and strong functional light that gets daily use. People may think whats the big deal when they can use their phone flashlight but we're talking about half a second to turn on the light on your watch versus the 10 seconds of fumbling w/your phone, unlocking, looking for flashlight app, and turning on.
I won't even consider any other brand smart watch at this point solely for this feature. I really wish other companies would implement.

Bought a fenix 8 on a whim - should I return that and get this instead? Main use case for me was for golf - does this have the same feature golf wise as Fenix 8?

Rabid Apple fans will poo-poo anything. Many on Reddit don't want AI and think its trash, simply because Siri and Apple Intelligence is horrible. Siri was better when they bought the company long ago. So, yeah, AI is a gimmick...anyway, this watch is...pricey.

How did you do this. I tried getting target to price match and they said yes, but wouldn't stack the 15% off.

I was able to stack it without any issues. I don't know why it doesn't allow you to use yours.
