https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/panasonic/w95a Panasonic W95A Review (TV-55W95AP, TV-65W95AP, TV-75W95AP, TV-85W95AP) - RTINGS.com

The Panasonic W95 is a good TV overall. Unfortunately, it's really held back by the fact that you can't use local dimming and VRR simultaneously, so you have to choose between the best possible image quality or a tear-free gaming experience while using its True Game picture mode. This is unusual, and you can get similar and even better Mini LED TVs like the Hisense U8/U8N, the TCL QM8/QM851G QLED, and the Sony BRAVIA 7 QLED that don't make you decide between those two options.
Panasonic re-entered the market after a hiatus in North America and they their TVs are good quality, but the damage they did to their brand hurt their sales and they are deep discounting their current line. Hopefully they try harder on the next batch of TVs because in my opinion they rival Sony for picture quality.

Would absolutely pull the trigger on this if it wasnt for the firetv OS. I have it now and the fact that it treats my TV like billboard is so damn annoying. Like if you want to have advertising space in my living room, you should pay me to have this TV or at the least it should be aggressively subsidized.

You're already subsidized. Without those ads, you'd be paying $1,500—not $500.

I bought this a few weeks ago and love it. The UI is smooth, but the settings take some time to get familiar with. I use it with a Roku ultra and connected to denon receiver running all Klipsch RP speakers. However, the built-in sound is very good as well.

i agree.

unbeatable for the price.

i myslelt hate fire os, have no issues using a shield or tivo stream 4k.

i also do not game.
How's the off axis viewing? Is it notably worse than most other TVs in normal viewing? The comment on viewing angles from rtings.com gave me pause.

Based on your link, I see some picture quality degradation around 25 degree. That's only an issue if one sits 2-3 ft in front of the TV. At 10 ft viewing distance, the sweet spot is still a respectable 8.5 ft wide.

The average power consumption is an impressive 65 W for a 65" TV, with the Fire spyware OS running in the background. My dumb 32" Samsung with mediocre brightness pulls 63 W.

Heavier than same size tcl and Hisense, I bet is because it uses better power supply. My Hisense H9G just die after 5 years and this panny iq is better than the flagships H9G

This looks like an incredible TV for the price, but Rtings shows the Roku Pro 65 is better in almost every respect (https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...8205/74025), and only about $100 more.
Anyone have strong opinions to help somebody who is still looking at their 2010 60" Sharp Aquos LCD?

Not sure it was "damage", they just stuck to plasma too long & didn't follow with making cheaper tvs.I'm hoping Costco picks up their Oled displays, they are considered one of the best! 🙏🏼
My 60in panasonic plasma still runs flawless

Hey folks, I just found this youtube review with FOMO and Brian's tech Therapy.
They are doing a youtube stream and it is over 2 hours long!! Lots of great info in it, and a lot of it pertains to the W95. The video is over 4-months old. It talks about how the Quality TV's are more reliable than the "cheap" featured tv's.
Also at the 117 minute mark, They talk about GAMING on the W95 and how they actually RECOMMEND it !!!

Video is called: Panasonic TV at Risk? We have a plan!

I get the replacement for tv speakers.
What I don't get is why pay so much especially just because it says "Atmos"!

You do understand they actually don't give you a true representation of Atmos?
Especially since they are mainly designed for streaming content, thats a significant drop in sound quality!
Then you pay extra for an indefinite rental!
what are you talking about? who said anything about atmos?

The Roku Pro Series only rates higher because it hasn't been updated to Rtings' latest, more strict, testing method (v2.0), while the W95A has. FWIW... the Roku Pro is rated 7.7 under the v1.11 testing method and the W95A rated 7.9 under that same method prior to being updated to Rtings' latest standard. It also looks like Rtings has no plans to update the Roku Pro to the v2.0 testing method.

What! You are using a non Atmos soundbar with a 4K UHD Mini-LED LCD TV with 1080p streaming content!

You are a very rare person, sorry my comment would not apply to you!

No internet nor Amazon account required.
Firmware update to RS8138/2935 is recommended for atsc3.0 and better handling of dark scenes.

i'm reading this tv doesn't play well with soundbar setups, which is a bummer. Something to consider.
Care to explain? Thanks
