I always like to buy fans at the end of summer when they close out a bunch on discount.

Avoid buying this fan. It's poorly made and falls apart quickly. The plastic construction feels cheap, and the central bracket becomes loose over time, causing the fan to droop constantly.

The big plastic nut that holds the cage over the fan just fell off on mine recently after probably 2-3 years of total run time. I haven't had any issues with drooping and I'm sure it'll be fine for years of usage again once I take out the 4 screws to put it back together.

I'd buy it again if it doesn't but also I'm pretty sure this is regular price. SD seems to have a deal with Walmart where they just post random regularly priced stuff these days.

Can anyone comment on what to expect from a pedestal fan like this compared to a similar but slightly more expensive tower fan? Total air moved, noise levels, how wide of an area is cooled, etc?

I agree. Savings of $3? What is the point of posting.

Glad i'm not the only one. This is like a regular day at Walmart. I've been seeing a lot of these tiny savings lately on front page, and yet people still upvote and go nuts over them.

I second this, after I received this fan, I put a little bit of pressure on the top and the metal connecting the motor broke off from the pole. Very cheap.
