Impacts battery life, performance slightly, weight. If you're going to use this as a weekend warrior for projects not a big deal. If price over the shiny new this is a good deal.

Don't overthink this. Awesome deal.
Way to think of it is $10/ah for the batteries, so they're worth $100. So $50 for the saw is solid.

Hmm I paid $150 for the same saw with 2 XR powerstack batteries at Lowe's. (1.7ah)

I have this saw and the 6.5" brushless. not much difference between the two. the brushless has a bit more power. I don't notice much with battery life. I only have xr batteries though so I can't speak on those.

I wore the bearings out on my saw. Would buy again. I also have the flexvolt saw and keep both handy.

I have both just bought a brushless while on sale. Slightly more power on the Brushless battery difference is negligible for this type of tool. I would have

The DCS590 (brushless XR) with 8Ah PowerPack (tabless battery) with the fast charger can be gotten for the same $150 price in store at Lowes (in the LA area, not sure about other places) if you're willing to do the "hack" (which is hardly a hack in the first place since Lowe's return policy specifically states they allow returns from BOGO offers at prorated price).

Not nearly as convenient as ordering online, but it is a better saw and has a way better battery for the same price. May be worth the extra effort for people who use Dewalt tools often. The tabless battery just makes most tools better.

I own this. $99 for tool-only with hack around Christmas, but this is even better with two batteries and charger.
