I have been running this 24/7 >2+ years. Absolutely fantastic. It has the Quectel RM520N-GL chipset (CAT19), meaning it can do 5G on all US carriers (no mmWave). No issues with reliability or uptime. I have reached out to support twice over the years and response was within 24 hrs over email. They also took one of my recommendation/requests and later added it in firmware updates. This works great for homes, RVs, and fixed sites with power. The external antennas will give you the best possible reception in remote areas, or you can add-on more powerful external antennas if needed. Lots of options for DNS customization/Ad-Guard/Tailscale/VPN server or client support. If you need more wifi coverage you can connect it to other wifi mesh systems just like a normal modem/router.
It is not a solution for those needing portability and internal battery. Inseego M3000 (or similar) would be better. GLiNet does make the same device with a battery, the GL-XE3000. That system would be better if you need power/portability and want external antenna. I considered the battery version just as a backup internet source, but instead using an APC.
I also tried a Cudy P5, but kept the GliNet as the form factor was much smaller and I preferred the impressive firmware options. You can do anything with this guy... tower locks, band locks, dual sim, dual WAN, TTL-mods, IMEI mods, etc. Have tested with ATT, TMO, and Verizon.
