Guess I don't have to be in a hurry for this one.
Also I have the "FDAY" promo on doordash for 25% off in addition to the sale price of $55/$65 so I should probably look at getting a doordash gift card

This looks like the torque wrench I bought 10 years ago that failed and I still haven't gone to get the warranty replacement. It just stopped clicking.

This is the reason I got the HarborFrieght one. It just less headache in doing warranty replacement.

Yeah, the irony :-) My 20-year-old harbor freight one is still working and that's what I've been using for the last 10 years.

Headache, indeed. I had a made in USA ratchet purchased from Sears. It stopped ratcheting after about 10 years, so I eventually took it to Lowe's. They looked at me like I had two heads until they found the one employee who knew how to handle it. The other downside (to some) is that the replacement was imported. It's held up reasonably well thus far, though.

Lowe's never has more than one person at the store that knows how to do stuff at any given time. Company policy.

FWIW, there's probably somebody out there who thinks that's a valuable collector's model, already has a rebuild kit for it, and would have paid you for shipping and a new Chinaman ratchet (not me though.)

The manual says that it might not make an audible click at low torque settings.

No, meaning it just spins and spins.

Skip this (no lifetime warranty) and get the Husky torque wrench at Home Depot with a lifetime warranty.

There was no Icon 20 years ago, and I expect all clickers were made in Taiwan at that point.
