I think the point is, these are all nominal differences, and PD (being a universal standard) is the basket where I'd put all my eggs. No doubt Samsung is unkind about licensing their proprietary tech too -- I'm sure they want a piece of every transaction.

Samsung just calls it fastcharge but it is really PPS which is a standard and something other phones like the Pixel series rely on for max charging speed. At this point PD is the bare minimum, but is still pretty limited depending on how may pd profiles it has. PPS is an entire range and leads to much more compatibility.

OK, reasonable point there, Pixel is a large market segment too. I hope that PPS isn't limited/hampered by licensing fees and is an open standard compared to PD.

Haven't heard about licensing (could be though), but I am sure it adds complexity and cost to products. The very annoying part is companies like baseus advertise pps, support pps (to some degree), but don't list the pps volt/amp range so it's only partially compatible with pixel pps for example. Pixel wants 19v for its highest power pull on pps, but lots of pps bricks don't provide that.
