I recently bought this computer from Newegg last month. It actually has a 1600p screen and is significantly better than advertised as 1200p this is a mediocre unit. At actual 1600p 144hz it checks many boxes.

I paid $1599 from Newegg and think it was a great deal. It came with three promo games and a promo wireless mouse which really sweetens the deal. At this price it is still probably a buy, however know that it has been lower and may or may not go down to that again.

It is currently on sale for $1279 at Microcenter in Santa Clara as for their grand opening they have %20 off all laptops. At that price it is incredible. I considered returning mine and buying from them but I redeemed the games and felt I got a good price.

No, it is not. The one you got, and this one are different models with completely different model numbers. The one you got from Newegg and the one at MC (which is out of stock at Santa Clara, jbtw), were the ones with 1600p displays. This one here comes with 1200p, I reckon.

If you go to the second picture of the Amazon page it states "QHD+ display" further substantiating my statement.

Earlier this week the microcenter had the laptop in stock, it was a restock because they had gone out shortly after they opened. They may have another restock, they may not. That however does not change the fact that information about previous pricing elsewhere is a data point that people can and should use while buying.

No, it doesn't. That is advertisement for this entire series, not this particular model. Model numbers are more specific than series number. Here's the official MSI product page showing that this particular model comes with FHD+. https://storage-asset.msi.com/exc...-212US.pdf
Hope that settles the argument.
