I'd go for the LG, Sony or Panasonic OLEDs as Samsung has been kind of a buggy mess of late, has no DV, poor support and has an annoying OS. There is a thread on avsforum about all the folks who have Samsung OLED TV's that quit working after a few weeks. No thanks! Panel from Samsung Display is great though but I'd like for someone else than Samsung Electronics to build the TV around it. Shame the Sony QD OLEDs are stupid expensive. I'd prob get a C or G series LG OLED and call it good enough. This TV is tempting though because it is basically the same as the current Bravia 8 for a good price. Sony hasn't changed much at all with their WOLEDs. If you think you need brighter then get a G. If you are watching in a dark room primarily then this one is still going to be an amazing experience.
Purchased one in 2023... went out 16 mo later just out of warranty.

Attempted to swap multiple boards with no luck. Panel went bad.

I would avoid it.

Lg vs Samsung vs Sony. Which has the better tv? I liked Samsungs quality over the years and have no reason to switch.

WOLED. Sony has excellent processing, but this is an old tv. I'd recommend waiting for a qd-OLED panel deal

You aren't getting a QD for anything close to this unless it is a buggy Samsung. This is basically the same as the Bravia 8 so it's a good deal and has a modern processor.

I purchased this tv a few months ago for slightly more. Im satisfied with it overall. It replaced a x900h. I would say the picture quality is extremely similar besides the deep blacks, which are an obvious improvement being oled. I would definitely recommend it, but I'm a sony tv person.

I have the Samsung s90d, I got it in November from Costco (5 year warranty included free), and one had nothing but great experience from it.
It's super bright which was one of the issues I thought i might have with it but no complaints at all.
I've not had any burn in (another thing I was worried about). I play games watch shows, sports on it and it's fantastic. Would recommend.

I bought the 65 inch version of this model about a year ago and have loved it. I also have a Sony A80J and the interface is so much faster/smoother on the A65L.

I would recommend

Well......The Bravia 8 kinda sux !!! Thee only redeeming quality is it has Sony video processing.

It scored 7.9 on Rtings [rtings.com]

Same thing happened to me. I was lucky enough to be in warranty but it was a hassle to deal with.

New testing methodology which makes the score seem lower since it seems mostly identical to the x75L that gets a 8.8 which is excellent:

It is slightly less bright than the competition but most turn down the brightness anyway. On the positive side the panel probably lasts longer before green blob and burn with Sony running it less hard. For those of us watching movies in dark rooms then this at 1200 is a good deal.

If you are rocking vivid mode with no shades on the windows then sure get something more appropriate for that usage.
