This is their first attempt at a griddle. It has since been replaced by the Weber Slate. I haven't personally used it, but a few YouTube reviewers weren't impressed.. I'm a Weber guy ( I have 6 of the various cookers right now) and would rather look elsewhere than this one.

Actually it's the opposite. Blackstone technically owns Weber.
Blackstone Products was acquired by Weber-Stephen Products.

I almost bought the 4 burner version of this and it got good reviews for the evenness of the cooking surface. What I didn't like, though, is that the flame is exposed to wind and that causes problems with evenness and I live in a windy area so I passed. It has to be used under perfect conditions.

Blackstone has a reputation for uneven cooking surfaces. I didn't like that as I refuse to "learn to understand the hot/cool spots"...as someone told me.

I went with the Traeger Flatrock and am happy with that but it is a lot more expensive.

You get what you pay for but at the end of the day these are all just big cast iron skillets.

I bought this a few months ago and have no regrets at all. There are certain small changes I'd make, but for $279, it has been worth it. It cooks evenly, easy to clean and cools fast. I'm a fan, use it all the time to cook breakfast fast.

I bought this the last time Ace had it at this price. I love this thing- its ability to maintain low temperatures sets it apart from Blackstone. Very solid build- feels like a Weber. The cooktop feels pre- seasoned compared to Blackstone. Check out flattopking's side-by-side comparisons on YouTube.

I own this griddle and am have used a Blackstone quite a bit at my in laws. The Weber has much better build quality and a lot more even heating. I use it quite a bit and it works great.

Windy days are an issue. The build quality on the Slate is much better.

I purchased this grill in July of '24 for $35 more than this price. Back then I got a great deal. At this price point, I think it's a no-brainer. I have 2 Kamando style grills and SS Gas Grill. Wanted a griddle to add to my line-up and I am very happy with my decision. Well made, even heating and comes with a top cover. My nephew bought the Slate griddle and it is certainly an upgrade, but it also cost more than double what I paid. Not worth it IMO. My only disappointment, no Natural Gas conversion kit available. Other than that, very happy with my purchase.

I bought this a few weeks ago for the same price. Great quality, cooks evenly, and feels like it will last for years versus some of the comparable griddles I have seen. Buy a cover for it too!

FWIW, I have had mine a few years and have had no issues with it. Lives outside covered and with no rusting. Just keep it seasoned/oiled and you are good to go! Sure, it doesn't look as fancy as the slate or have all the extra features but for a bare bones griddle, it is solid! Even heating and low means low.

LOL Do some homework, Bud. I work in the Hardware Hardlines industry, and I know that that's not it.

Same, it's been great. Using for 3-4/wk. It cooks very evenly, easy to move around, no problem in wind. If I had the money I'd spring for the Slate, but can't beat this price.

Aside from camping trips, I've never had the desire to cook breakfast outside with lugging all the food, plates, glasses, spices, syrup, etc. And living in Michigan with 5 months of winter and another 3 months of cool and/or wet months, can't see myself even remotely abandoning my covenient, sub-$100 electric griddle used inside to grill breakfast outside. And if I did want to cook outside, I've got outlets on the deck to use my electric griddle.
Who asked you?

Any thoughts on this griddle? How is it compared to blackstone?

Not sure on this exact weber as we have the newer version but the Blackstone isn't very even on heating the plate. The new weber has better temperature control with no hot spots and or cold spots. Has a much better surface but again this is the newer Webber vrs Blackstone. We have a Blackstone for camping
