This is an inch bigger deck. I wouldn't go for larger than 1/4 acre.

I don't think so. This 17" does not have a brushless motor and is only 1" wider.

A noticeable upgrade would be to go to a mower with higher voltage (60v or 80v), brushless motor and 20"-21" deck.

Good deal! I got the 16" for the same price last week. Mowing is so much easier now compared to my reel mower. Keep the battery at 50% as much as you can, avoid draining completely, stop at 2 bars.
