Hi Here's the link for the Google spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadshe...dit#gid=0"

This is the link for the Retro Catalog website: https://retrocatalog.com/

You can use their comparison tool [retrocatalog.com] to see the differences / similarities between various models.
Minui is easy and changes it to the most simple, battery efficient, and dumbed down device I've ever used. Auto power down when closed.

It's very confusing and I think that's the idea behind these. Just overwhelming and makes it very difficult to compare. However there is a master excel sheet, or Google docs file, it's crazy detailed, there is also a website you can compare one against another and filter... To me, best emulator is still 3DS but the problem with thst is it's good just for Nintendo stuff. You still need a good one for pap and PS1 and ps2 but nothing can replace 3ds for 3ds and da games with 2 screen.I would say minimum these should run is ps2. I'd be OK with that. Sure ps3 is nice to have but that's pushing it.

Do you have a link for that spreadsheet? Or a search term I can put into Google?

How do you all keep track of all these different emulator handhelds and their specs? It feels like a slew of these get posted every couple of months and there are so many brands and models. How do y'all know what's good or meh or bad with so many options?

Ther anbernic xx pretty much all have the same specs. You're really just choosing the form factor. Bigger screen and more comfortable to play vs more pocketable. Want comfort and a bigger screen get the cube xx, want it really easy to throw in your pocket get a 35xxsp. There's also a website if you google it that breaks down each device.

Buttons are way too clicky on SP. Form factor is cool but it's a pass for me. I sold it.

The others look good. I have the RG CubeXX
I agree on the buttons being overly clicky. Also battery just doesn't last even if you go into the hibernation mode vs standby. Everytime I reach for it, it's dead.

This is built with the expectation that you'll want to choose your OS. Each OS offers a different experience, built for different users and different use cases. You should be thanking the manufacturers for giving you the opportunity. Also, it's $45 - You get what you paid for. And, setting it up and customizing it is half the fun for most of us - this is a tinkering community. Lastly, the stock OS isn't bad… it could be prettier, but it works just fine.

If you want something that's polished and ready to go out of the box, you can have it. You just have to pay more.
I own an Odin 2, rg405m, rg34xx and unfortunately this rg35xxsp.

Comparing Apples to Apples, the stock on my rg34xx is sufficient and the stand by lasts for days, if not a week, while the sp variant dies in a day or so when left in sleep. I don't wanna mess with an alt OS because half of the Anbernic discord discussions revolves around QA for issues that arise with different OS'.

I have the v1 version, so the buttons are obnoxiously clicky. That, combined with its battery life, is reason enough for me to just part with it.

40xxH and 35xxH both have great buttons, IMO. bought based on reviews of the controls by Retro Game Corps. They did not disappoint, especially for the price. 40xxH was gifted to the Mom - really nice ergonomics and controls, and a bigger screen. Decided the 35 was better for me for portability - I have a Gamesir G8+ (omg... so awesome...) and a flagship level phone for when I want a big screen and newer games.

I like mine but might trade it in for a 34xx sp or Trimui brick instead. 35xx sp a big too bulky in pocket
