I love these speakers. They are really amazing and accurate for mixing. They are even better when you add the LSR310S subwoofer. i've trusted JBL for years and they are simply amazing for the price.

Really nice speakers. I have been using them for years for sound mixing as well as general listening on my computer. They translate very nicely to the movie theater since most US theaters use JBL speakers. This is a better price than I paid. They sound even better when you add the LSR310S sub. you will want a good quality sound card to feed them for the best audio performance. They are powered and take XLR or 1/4" inputs, so you need the right adapters / cables to work. You also may also need to use a ground loop remover if your power isn't clean to remove hum.

Quote from TheEdge :
I've heard of Peace APO -- essentially just software EQ. Your link just takes me to a forum (but not a thread).

I personally prefer hardware EQ over software. Just easier to toggle on the fly. And I was into HW EQs before I discovered APOs.
I've heard of the Peace, never used it.

The link is the ASR forum thread that I consider the authoritative setup guide to Windows audio and E-APO. If you're not using that process or ASIO (due to bypass of Windows audio layer) you're likely not getting optimal sound out of your PC, before the dac.

E-APO link:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/

I personally pin mine to the task bar but rarely have to adjust it from my normal PEQ and tone settings. All of my setups are EQ'd by ear using a tone generator.

I own a couple DSP pro amps and an exotic old school full analog car audio PEQ - I know hardware EQ. But for the most part I use the E-APO.
