If you don't need the articulating arm, I'd recommend not getting this. The plate / arm in the middle makes it hard to access the HDMI ports on some TVs (including mine). And in the case of REALLY large TVs, having the weight of the TV further away from the wall would make me a bit nervous. I used a mount like this on a 50" TV -- same brand, same arm.

I bought a mount this AM that can tackle LARGE TVs (I got an 83" OLED this AM). When it comes to hanging this, simpler is better in my mind.

would you mind sharing the mount that you bought? I have a 85inch TV and weigh 98lbs, this one claims to handle 132lbs, which is I think what most large TV mount claims so I'm really leaning toward this.

Here's what I got. It's more than OP's deal and doesn't have the arm… but I don't need it to push in / out or swing from side to side.

Thank you for the suggestion! it's a bit pricey, I will do some digging and see if I can justify the price difference.

Yeah, and usually I go for something much cheaper... but I want this to be a hastle-free install experience and be as stable as possible knowing this is the largest TV I've ever had. I do like the post-hanging "angle adjustment" in case it's crooked. The 77" TV that it is replacing was hung crooked and the last thing I need is more holes in the wall. The overall reviews on it were solid.

This company has good customer service. My studs were 17 inches apart so the wall barely missed the studs. I contacted customer support and they sent me an extender ($40 on Amazon) for free.
