I needed a humidifier a few months ago and couldn't find one anywhere near this price. I ended up paying about $30 for one on Amazon.

I wish this deal was available earlier when I needed it - hopefully this deal will be good timing for someone else!

If you have purchased a filter free humidifier, you don't have to feel bad. This one need replacement filters and you are the mercy of Walgreens to buy them at their inflated prices!

Bought two of these on special in store for $30 total two years ago for the winter. They did the job for that season. For <$10 they'd probably help any dry air situation for at least $10 worth of time.

Little humidifiers do almost nothing. People end up throwing them in the trash an having to buy 1 big one per floor. It will let you know for the 30-90 minutes it runs before drying up that it's effective to have higher humidity if needed. However like air filters; the little and mid sized ones are about useless. You *can* run a smaller humidifier better than a smaller filter or dehumidifer; but you will be refilling the water every couple hours if your area is actually dry. That means waking up after 8 hours with the room dry again an having the next 2-6 hours attempting to get it moist again..

And if dry you will still be refilling extra large ones every 12 hours or spending a few hours after filling it again waiting to get back. I even spray my rooms an walls with a couple full water bottles when this happens an have the wait time.

Filter free humidifiers generally chuck globs of water in front of them an will soak the vents an drip all around them. Which will ruin any wood you have it set on or anything in front of it. Filters can often be found online and you can buy a similar size an cut it down. I wouldn't wanna trust cvs/Walgreens filters over Honeywell or brands that have been at it 30 years anyways.

I don't even see a metal mesh from a quick look at this filter. Which holds the shape an can prevent it from sloping over into a lump of pudding ; and blocking vents, an also impossible to close it without totally smashing it into said lump. Filters not only prevent the spraying of globs of water an "leaking" but they take the minerals out of the water which will quickly appear as a white dust in the house; that is glued to surfaces much like old dust that hasn't been dusted in a year. Cept white; so much more visible on darks.

Don't forget to use water treatment. Anti bacterial at least an I used anti minerlization. You will be chucking the whole thing out when it develops mold/mildew. Which will start to set within a week in a 24/7 damp condition. So I reccomend not using it till you get that.
