IMO, they are superior to the ordinary crayola 12-packs you can find anywhere. The cores are noticeably softer and larger, so it's great for shading. The tin is WAY better, since you can easily see every color and directly select, while the paper boxes invariably end up tearing and dropping pencils all the time. And obviously, more colors to choose from.

Kids lose these things like crazy if you're buying for them to leave at school. Target is selling packs of 12 color pencils for 50 cents. Probably a better option.
12 color pencils for only 50 cents? thats cheap. link?

How are these compared to Prismacolor?
If you've used Prismacolor and you are the use case for Prismacolor and aren't buying Prismacolor just to be cool.... These amazon ones aren't for you.

Thanks for the feedback, are they better than crayola colored pencils? Currently looking for school supplies. Thanks!
If you're homeschooling or buying supplies to keep at home, go ahead and get these. They're good quality, good color, and a nice variety.

However, if your kid goes to a school, stick with the crayola brand (unless the teacher has specifically requested a different brand). The Crayola 12 pack is about $1 just about everywhere this time of year, and the colors are consistent. This is especially important in early elementary school when they're still learning colors and/or the teacher uses color in their practice of following directions. Johnny doesn't need six shades of green to choose from when the teacher says to circle the odd numbers with green and draw a line through the even numbers with red. And don't buy the off brand because they're a little bit cheaper. The color tends to be inconsistent and the pencil quality is poor, so they may not last through the first sharpening.
