9070 is faster and has more vram. 12GB is going to be the new 8GB in a year or 2. Ray tracing is the only reason to get the 5070 as long as it doesn't run out of ram.
No the reason the 5070 was able to keep its price is bc it is on a larger node and a small die so it is cheap to produce. Same reason the 5070 ti is found closer to msrp compared to the 9070 xt. Based on wafer cost the 9070 and 9070 xt cost more to produce than their nvidia counterpart esp for the 5070 and 9070
