If you've got important data, you should be backing it up, even if you use new drives. New drives are basically crapshoots too, because sometimes new models turn out to have bad reliability, or they've changed the design, moved to a new factory, etc. Even new, high end SSDs have had issues with early failures. (E.g., https://www.tomshardware.com/news...are-update)

You should always back up anything important.

Be aware, these are 4Kn drives. This could be a headache for some people, especially those wanting to add them to an array with the vastly more common 512e drives. I don't know if it's possible to reformat these in 512e mode.

These are usually drives used in data centers for 5+ years, they are retired because they are close to the end of their design life. The only refurbishing these sellers do is wiping the data on the drive and the SMART data.
