That table was not launched a few days ago. It was discontinued in 2024. There is one launching on July 10th, however.
That is the one I am talking about... 9" OLED... and the Chinese version already launched.

Redmagic launched no new tablets in late June.

the RedMagic Astra is the global version of the Gaming Tablet 3 Pro that RedMagic has been selling in China for a few weeks.
And the Chiniese version comes in English.

The English variant is already on their site. $549 but can't be ordered yet.

A little pricey for an Android tablet...

Pricey... sure, it is $549 but is there any value to this? Especially if you buy the $30 discount for $1.00 which comes with a 80Watt charger.
First off, you can not even compare the Astra to this tablet.
You get a SD 8 Elite CPU (the fastest CPU right now for phones/tablets), you get newer hard drive technology, you get a 9" OLED screen that does 1100 nits (and 1600 in peak HDR), 12GB of RAM, 256GB hard drive, active cooling, I believe this is considered the fourth fastest tablet in the world and they are all very close to each other.
Point is, the value is INSANE for only $521 (if you get in on the early access).

I understand that the tablet sports LPDDR5T, UFS 4.1 Pro, 165hz OLED, etc. Many features that are rare on Android, and challenging to find from Apple or Windows based tablets. Yeah, it's very powerful like M4 iPad. It might even support a pen.
However, the issue is that it's a tablet or mobile OS at the end of the day. I'm not sure it's worthwhile to put $500 towards something with a limited update cycle and productivity capabilities. The hardware is great, it's the software side that restricts tablets.
It's hard to ignore that 9" is a good and rare tablet size. I'm tired of everyone going for huge screens. Those are so annoying to play games on, or read.
The tablet in this thread is meh. FE series is too weak for the price and isn't worth looking at. Even used S8 makes more sense.

I do my trading and banking on my phone or laptop. So it comes down to updates. For me it is good enough. Hopefully you will be able to unlock and use third party ROMs in the future.

Android development is very niche compared to 5-15 years ago. Xda has mostly dried up, and small telegram groups are used. For example the Moto Edge 2024 often posted on SD doesn't have a section on XDA, but someone is working on a ROM.

It's disappointing that Google is making changes to Play store integrity and source code, to discourage the usage of ROMs. I feel it'll become closed like iOS one day.

Also I made a mistake. The Astra will get 5yrs of updates in Europe, so we could just flash the EU builds.

When is the RedMagic being released in the USA? Is it a definite it won't receive updates in the USA?
How does one buy the 30 dollar discount?

I think EU has a law about updates, so that region gets more than elsewhere. They might do global, EU and China firmware. Not sure how they separate them, maybe EU is global firmware. Usually Asian brands offer firmware as global and Chinese.

Redmagic has an international site:

https://intl.redmagic.gg/pages/re...let-launch

This is their Amazon store:
