This drive is what I use to watch movies on my Bluray player... it works very well. Speeds are nowhere near as fast as advertised but for my needs it's great

Thanks, looks like this is faster than the Amazon Basics one that is currently on the frontpage.
irl its just another dog slow budget drive, and gigantic to boot, it blocks other usb ports and the plastic feels really cheap, but tts 11 bucks yea.

Nothing writes 400MB/s until you get dram ssd, even cheap ssds gas out after the slc cache is up, these thumb drives have the most mind numbingly slow write speeds imaginable, its just what you live with for the price and form factor, but at this point it almost makes more sense to just get a cheap ~1TB ssd for $40 and enclosure as the price per GB is equivalent when you buy more. This thing is for the max spend consideration only.

I've owned the 64gb version for many years. This is a good deal imo. Here's my CrystalDiskMark result:

I don't remember it ever writing that fast, but the thing is these things start off higher end, and they swap out to cheaper chips as the price drops, so yours could be a nicer one.

Good point, I've had mine forever, as I stated.

I had a 128GB version fail after about 6 months, just when I started to trust it. I lost all data on the drive. I'll never buy PNY again.
