Great deal. Was able to get this at kohls with a 40% off coupon last month. This beats that for sure and you don't have to deal with Kohl's cash. It's an amazing rice cooker

Did the same thing with Kohls. I bought the 10 cup though and wish I would have bought the 5.5 as I usually only make 2-3 cups at a time. I haven't opened it yet but I'm outside the return window and they said they could not make an exception. Debating buying the 5.5 now and holding onto the 10 to try to sell it NIB.

Other than the size, were there any downside? I only cook 2-3 cups as well, but find the steaming basket in 10 cups much more useful.

Heats up faster and has more precise control over the heat than the traditional kind that has a heating element on the bottom.

Really just size. I'm challenged for kitchen space at the moment but I guess this one isn't THAT much bigger. Good point about steaming though. Also wasn't sure if the 10 cup had a minimum amount. i.e. if I just wanted 1 cup.

I have the 3,5,10 cup. I would keep the 10 for just in cases. You can steam dumplings and such and make other things like congee. Can also use different recipes to add meats and veggies. For regular family dinner I use the 5 cup but when I use to make other than rice , the extra space in the 10 helps imo.

I'm torn between this and the $175 non-induction on sale as well on Amazon. My 9 year old Zojirushi is starting to give. We cook and eat rice almost everyday so either one will be worth it.

I have both non and induction. The induction makes better rice IMO.
