Fickle demanding neuroticism must be costing our nation billions in lost productivity and waste.
Society shames people that dare use a plastic bag or for driving and here you are seeming proud that you bought something you could see pictures of to only to turn send it back it.
Your whim has large costs and impacts. It dragged in thousands of people that had to make it, supply, transport and deliver the product for you to say nevermind I have psychological quirk that makes me not want it now.
Couldn't you just have gave them away or something? believe me I am not some environmental scold but at the personal, human and societal level common courtesy and sense should dissuade us from doing stuff like that.
It does raise prices. It creates waste and wasted energy and effort for everybody. Just calculate what you cost your community had to have to have the post office come to your house with the item and then come back and take it away, That and all extra costs you created with your change of mind are large and are likely in the thousands. If you opened them they may go back to Amazon and then to a landfill. No, I do not worry that we are filling up the landfill it just is wasteful.
I'd advise that on low dollar items like this even if not thrilled keep and find some way to use it or give them to a friend or charity.
