how are the smart functions on this? i have a hisense barebones 55" now, some UHD tv that was on sale for $200 3 years ago. the smart tv functions are seriously laggy and slow.

I want to try mini led, the price on this seems decent, but is there better out there for the price?

First, you should consider an upgrade because this will probably have better picture quality however you should consider the Panasonic instead at Costco for $500. Second you shouldn't upgrade just because your smart features are getting sluggish on your TV. Just buy an Onn 4K box or something like that.

If you have a Costco membership, you should consider the Panasonic W95A for $499.00 includes delivery and warranty.
It's a far better tv. It's a 65 inch though.
Since the 2025 models are releasing soon this is a clearance price.
I purchased this tv and it's amazing, I don't use the built in apps. Use Apple TV and satellite.
