They're packaged pretty well. You'd have to really chuck that thing but still possible I suppose.

In for one. My 6yo 10TB Easystore is finally slowing down after years of constant plex use. Was $159 from BB at the time.

Before SSDs were popular in enterprise storage, I shipped 100s if not 1000s of HDDs to data centers. They all came on a truck with a delivery driver, and I dont recall too many issues.

Seagate used to wear the crown but ever since their acquisition of maxtor everything went downhill. WD is by far the most reliable and better of the two.
