It has 4x m2 slots for the day when the flash companies finally decide to sell affordable, large flash chips.

Another option with better cooling, more nvme slots and cheaper... https://www.bee-link.com/products...-mini-n150. These are pre-order.

Quite happy with my Beelink with an i5. And yeah, at $230 you should be getting something better than the N150. I guess this Gmktek probably fits a niche use case if you need 4x NVME... otherwise it just seems over priced.

Lots of good Ryzen options in this price range as well.

I'm fairly certain this was about $210 for months. Maybe this price is the new reality with tariffs but this mini PC was not being sold for $300.
$220 on their website: https://www.gmktec.com/products/i...48558b7cc6

Edit: Here it is for $184.80 (there's a save 12% when adding to cart): https://www.amazon.com/GMKtec-Des...r=8-3&th=1
That's the same mini pc, although it's listed separately. The posted one here appears to be the "revision" but there's little difference: https://www.reddit.com/r/MiniPCs/...gmktec_g9/

2nd edit: Just posted the deal: https://slickdeals.net/f/18397912-gmktec-g9-mini-pc-nas-intel-n150-dual-boot-system-12gb-ddr5-64gb-emmc-512gb-ssd-desktop-computer-185?p=177694783#post177694783

The problem with these is that it's just not viable with flash prices as they are now.

Same company makes these that makes Acemagic mini-PCs that have been shown to come with embedded malware that not even a reinstall of Windows or BIOS updates can fix. Avoid

So the malicious code would likely be in the Bios, and not vulnerable to drive wipes. Assuming what you say is true.

I'd stay far, far away from this.
N150 CPU? Gross.
64GB of eMMC storage? Super duper gross.
1000000% stay away from this. If you've never had a PC with eMMC storage before, you don't know the hell you are in for.
