It's too bad Voyager has not been remastered in HD. From what I've read it was produced on tape and it would be very expensive to do so. There are some unsanctioned HD upscales out there that are pretty nice. I wonder if Paramount would ever make an official AI upscale.

If you're a fan of the series, highly recommend checking out Picard as Seven of Nine's character is a major character.

Also, definitely check out the harry kim episode of Lower Decks. The whole episode is a dedicated rip on Voyager series and it is hilarious.

Thanks for posting. I am hoping to get the DVD set for this eventually but might just have to grab this version.

Majority of the scenes were done on film, but all of the effects were printed to tape. I imagine Voyager would be in a better situation for a remaster than TNG because most of TNG's effects involved the practical models, whereas Voyager started using CGI pretty early on and wouldn't need to go through the same, meticulous process of recreating the effects on film. Ideally they could pull up and re-render their old models and effects, assuming they have them saved and are still usable.

I also have the same thought about an AI upscale, but who knows. I'm sure we'll see an update one day.

No, the situation for a Voyager remaster was worse than TNG. I'm not sure if you're saying that for TNG they needed to create new effects to replace the practical models, but that's not what happened. They were able to use those sorts of original effects from TNG for the remaster, but they did need to recreate what CGI effects were in the show. For Voyager, they don't have all the CGI work files, so they would need to redo a lot(there's disagreement how much) of CGI effects.

Voyager and DS9 would be great to have in HD upscale of any variety.

Trust me, I'm not gatekeeping Star Trek by telling people to stay away from Picard. 🤣

Star Trek Voyager and Deep Space 9 are the best Star Trek series. If I had to choose my favorite… I'd pick DS9 75% of the time…

Once Voyager hit Borg Space, the series really took off.

Who doesn't love Seven of Nine… and my lowkey crush on B'ellana Torres…

This is a great deal for the series, it's just too bad they don't include all the special features that come with the DVDs

Star Trek enterprise box set is all $30. Is that a good price for it, or does it get lower?
