Did I miss something? Sync 2 modules have a USB port... And I'm using a 256GB flash drive smaller than a penny that is fine with offline storage.

I'd like to share something. Not all SD Cards are the same and not all memory cards are the same. However, nearly all SD cards and USB drives share the same type of memory(as long as they're in the same tier). The form factor interface is the only difference. A high endurance SD card uses the same exact chip and tech as high endurance USB drives. I use high endurance loosely because in most cases, it's a gimmick where manufacturers intentionally limit the use of an additional cheap component.
So is high endurance microSD what you recommend using? Please elaborate on the form factor interface as I am trying to purchase the best memory card for sync module XR.

High Endurance is a marketing gimmick that simply means a memory/storage module has been tested to last X amount of writes/reads continuously for a period of time. May are capable and ar just simply not marketed as such.
When choosing an SD card, choose based on the devices recommended specs.
