Is this stuff legit? Rubbing dirt into paint, even if lubricated, seems counterintuitive.

Pretty much is the normal price. Usually ~$10 and goes to 9 regularly

I think the whole "waterless wash" is a bit overblown. Dust? Fine. But I have small pebbles caked in the dirt behind my tires. The back hatch has 1/8" thick layer. Don't dare try to tell me you're rubbing that around worth a few sprays.

I've used bottles of this stuff and it's great. Easy detail and it smells awesome.

My understanding is this is for in-between washes or can be used as a clay bar lubricant before waxing or polishing. Or dust when u paRk it in ur garage/ under a car or motorcycle cover to touch up. Just for lite dust not i just went off roading with mud caked on .

I use it for in-between washes, so yeah, I imagine your use case would also work.

I definitely wouldn't use it in place of a proper wash for the same reasons others have mentioned above.

The real deal is buying a bottle of Uber Rinseless concentrate.

Is this to be used by just simply spraying on the car then just wiping it with a microfiber towel?

If so, I may get this for my dad

I guess the point I was trying to make is there IS a line in which waterless car washes should not happen. That line is never talked about and I'm willing to bet factually sits at a very low dirt level before scratches can start. But Meg's surely isn't going to talk about that...

There is definitely a line. However that line varies by person, which is probably why Meg's doesn't specify one, at worst I guess if you complain, they'll send you a bottle of polish?

Some people don't care about swirls, all they want is shine, those people can use this stuff even on muddy cars, though it will take more time than using a hose.

Others will use special lighting to find micromarring/hazing on their paint. This product is probably good for getting garage dust off their car.

No, it doesn't last that long, and it doesn't do a great job of minimizing dust on your car so you can go longer between washes.
I'd recommend an actually drying aid. I'm still trying to find a good one. I've used chemical brothers (green liquid) and meguiars shine and dry (red bottle) and they are ok. The red bottle is decent. Gives it a nice slick coat. But still doesn't last too long but it does make washing next time easier. Which is why I try to use it every wash.

I only use this waterless wash and wax on bird droppings in between washing.
you can use this to clean the door jams
