Samsung's launch trade-in deals are garbage. Just wait a few months until they go on a massive sale.

Seriously, cover your butts.
I used to thing people were exaggerating with statements like this, until after it happened to me.
If you have the storage to do so, make a recording of the trade in device showing the condition, and then go into the settings and show the IMEI for the device, and then kick off a factory reset on the recording and let it finish.
I did all of these things and thought there wouldnt be problems. Like 2 months later I get a email with no way to fight it saying I sent a device which wasnt factory reset and thus the trade in was null and void and I was on the hook for like $400 dollars. I reached out to Samsung and shared my video showing the trade in people were liars, and they eventually reversed the nonsense.
But had I not had that video, it would have been their word vs mine, and I would have been toast. Sneaky Sneak little trade in contractors. Be careful.

It would have to be a damn good or insane trade in for me to mess with Samsung trade ins again.

Any rumors on what would make this stand out compared to old folds? Form factor? Camera that can rival the ultras?

the trade in deals are getting worse and the value of upgrade for the cost is going down. not worth doing this on launch anymore

ive traded in at least 10 devices to Samsung and have not had a single issue

Same here. Been trading in devices for newer models since S8. Never had a problem. I have done multiple watches and buds as well.

Like previous years, you might be better off doing FI deals for these with selling the trade in phone locally. It takes 21 days to become an existing customer so the time to sign up is now on the flexible plan.
Probably

You will have to go through the post as there are too many variables.https://slickdeals.net/f/18342898I personally went with Verizon and had pretty much zero hassle. Everything worked out from receiving the phone on time to paying it off at the store and getting credits for the bill. In fact, Verizon rep did something while crediting me and told me I'm owed $67 so I may get a check for that lol. We'll see.
Verizon is expensive though

Name a good sale that happened in the past two years without stupid bill credits. At most, it's $1-200 off at bestbuy or wherever. Unless you buy their open box, sometimes those are a good deal.

How do you instant trade in a working daily driver phone? It takes me days to transfer stuff over.
Days? Android phone to new android phone transfers all of your phone data over to the new device in like an hour if you connect the two devices over USB, or maybe 1-2 hours over wifi. It's part of the setup process when you initially boot up your new phone, it's really seamless

I want to buy S24+ or S24U 256Gb, new one, not refurbished. And it should not be ebay sale I don't want any hassle or risk with trade in. I am ready to pay $550 for plus version and $650 for ultra. Do I demand too mach?
Recently I saw good epp deal for s25 ultra. With cb, came down to 750 for the 256gb, no trade in.

Reservations are just free marketing for Samsung to generate attentions and noises. Best deals are with bundle discount, double storage, etc. after launch.

This was my exact experience as well. I had to escalate to two different supervisors before they would even listen to me and I could show them the pictures. I will not say it was the beginning of the end of my relationship with Samsung as I had already been burned by their terrible repair service on a Galaxy Watch but it sure was one of the final nails in the coffin. Simply put, Samsung does not care about their customers. This is reflected in the low-ball trade-in offers these days, abysmal customer service and now the horrible return policy.

This statement is only true for ring, watch and audio.

The phones have the best deals during launch

slightly thinner, camera slightly better but not as good as ultra, front screen slightly wider.

I would consider if the outside scrèen is like normal brick phone even if slightly smaller (not the very narrow form factor). And the camera has to be as good as S25 ultra. For that price , camera can't be worse than S2x Ultra. I get that it's hard to fit a sensor in a thin phone like that etc but that's what we pay the premium for. can't carry around a 2000$ phone that doesn't take the best of pics

The narrow form factor is the best part of the design. The large brick looks like a face shield when talking on the phone.
