Serious question: How is this better than an impact driver with a socket extension bit? I feel like I use the driver for 90% of applications.

Not sure why the photos show both HP and non HP versions, but only shows the price for the non HP. The 199 deal gives you 3 HP batteries vs 2 non HP along with an upgraded HP version of the tool with more speed and torque.

Sometimes you just can't reach a screw with a standard driver. Like when it's behind something you don't want to or can't move.

I would say in general you're probably better off using the standard driver if you can.

This was an in-betweener for me so I sold it. For basic tasks requiring 3/8 sockets, I use their little USB 3/8 ratchet. Its much smaller profile and while not as strong, it handles house tasks just fine.

If I need something stronger, I use their 1/2 impact wrench.

I don't have this particular one, but in general, when you're underneath a car, or are in similar constrained spaces, a ratchet will be much easier to manage than a bulky impact driver.

That said, I would prefer an even slimmer version where you don't have a fat battery sticking out at the end. I'd pick one like the Milwaukee M12.

I think I saw HD has a 2fer on the long neck ratchets for the 4th. Or, I could have imagined the entire thing, but if that's the case, it sure seemed real.

The ratchet is better for repetitive tasks like working on a multi-stage centrifugal pump with 10+ impellers requiring 35 bolts per bowl assembly. You just have to break them with a heavy impact or a solid wrench and cheater and then the ratchet will zip them out much faster and with less fatigue and significantly less damage to your joints from the impact vibration. As we age, the vibration from a lot of heavier tools takes its toll.
